Egocentric video to Consumer Diaries
Brand owners and social researchers need now more than ever to understand analogue human behaviour. Our digital lives are fully measured. So consumption, and its link to repeat-purchase and positive word-of-mouth is the final frontier of insights advantage.
Key Three data is developing an automated platform for converting first-person video to structured consumer behaviour data, in longitudinal diary format.
Its ambition is to create the capability to holistically and immediately understand consumer behaviour, in a way that adds to our theory about how brands gain advantage and how people are influenced to behave in socially beneficial ways.

Step One
AI enabled camera + phone sent to respondents, who wear the small camera during the day and charge it at night. The camera offloads to the phone, which anonymises images and deletes them.

Step Two
Customisation of large models to convert digital data into a "stream of consciousnesses" description of the respondents lives.

Step Three
They automated system is continually validated and improved. Processing time is currently 1,6 minutes per minute of video - this will be dramatically improved in the next stage of development.

The validated "Stream of consciousness" narrative converted to usable data by adding structure, hierarchy, sequence and pattern
of behaviour.

Who
We Are
Our Story
Key Three Data was founded by ex Global VP of Category Strategy at Anheuser Busch Inbev, Anne Stephens, out of a frustration with the limitations of self-reported consumer behaviour data. In the last 3 years of her tenure at ABInBev and with its support, we have been working on an alternative to traditional survey based research or single point behavioural data collection (e.g till data or tv viewing).
Her PhD research developed a proof-of-concept prototype that takes passively collected digital and physical first-person data and automatically converts it to consumer data.
We are in the process of developing this proof-of-concept into a viable data and hardware supplier to the research industry.
